You Make Your Own Luck

I am an honest believer that a person can make there own luck. Yes... I understand there are some situations that you can't prevent, but for the most part with wise choices and smart decisions it can result in good luck.

So in the industry that I want to enter I have learned that it is all about experience. Now how does one gain experience in their field? By relying on no one but your damn SELF! It is up to you, to look for the opportunities that are presented in front of you. How do you get those opportuites? Confidence and never sell yourself short. I was a little bitty freshmen that didn't know really anything about college or what it took to make it in the job industry. But the only thing I did knew was I had a passion for sports and it was something I wanted to be involved in. So when I received a general email to apply to work in the sports promotions office, I jumped at it. Unlike most people who probably didn't even read that email, I saw it as a huge opportunity. Now I had no prior experience applying for this job but I used confidence and a secret weapon called heart. I proved that sports was a huge part of my life and I wanted job because it would not only be great experience, but it was something that I would have a passion in perusing.

Since then I have been building and building my resume. That one job has caused me to get the next job and then that job the next and that the next and the next.... You got it!!!

It's pretty amazing I honestly have only heard the word no once for something I applied for and I ended up getting something better... so in the end it all worked out.

All this success is because I worked my butt off looking for the opportunities presented in front of me. You can't take advantage and just sit back and do nothing during the 4 years that make or break your future. I have high hopes and big dreams and will this luck really pay off?

OR Will my luck run out? I honestly hope not.. since I am a firm believer that I have made my own luck for success. I guess the answer lies in future. So I don't just sit back and wait, but simply keep plugging and taking advantage of ever opportunity I could possible get.
